CloseOver the last two weeks, Mergermarket has aggregated eight funds at various stages of raising capital. The largest aggregated in the last two weeks saw Dutch private equity firm Waterland Private Equity raise EUR 2.5bn for its Waterland VIII fund. This represents an increase on the EUR 2bn raised for its VII fund in 2017. The fund will follow a similar strategy to its predecessor, investing in mid-market companies in Europe and pursuing a buy-and-build strategy.
London-based Ada Ventures, meanwhile, closed its debut fund, raising USD 50m. The fund will invest in a diverse portfolio of firms regardless of the age, gender, or background. UK-based Entree Capital had raised USD 125m for its debut late-stage fund Israel Opportunity Fund I, which will invest in SaaS, fintech, health-tech, and deep technology firms.
